With our recent success qualifying for the Call of Duty Global Pro league at CWL Seattle and the start of it looming in May, we caught up with Tainted Minds Call of Duty Veteran Hayden ‘Damage’ Handakas.
Sports have always broken down borders, bought people together and united through passion. It is with this mentality that we are proud to announce our new friendship in the South East Asia region, Recca Esports from Indonesia. Esports is truly global and a passion shared by millions around the globe, something that can be communicated without language and means something different to each and every one of us.
Counter Strike is rapidly on the rise globally in terms of both player numbers and viewership as well. This fact is highly relevant to the SEA region and something that we both want to help accelerate. Both Recca Esports and Tainted Minds hope that by engaging in this type of relationship we can simultaneously help grow the game amongst gamers in the region and also show that gaming unites nationalities and cultures and hopefully in the future have more teams globally interacting with each other.
We hope that with this new found relationship to combine the Counter Strike knowledge of both our countries and communities and thereby using this to grow the region where we can. Indonesia has a real passionate esport community and one that is ever growing and it excites us to be able to help our close neighbor be more relevant to AU CS. Going into the future we want to encourage the interaction of different teams from within the near regions who can hopefully reference this relationship as a starting point for cohesiveness and a regional approach to growing the game and esports as a whole.
The Scouting Grounds event Tainted Minds held at the end of 2016 proved to be a huge success in discovering upcoming talent and giving these players a platform to show off their skills while learning from top players along the way. As a result of the event Tainted Minds is proud to unveil their League of Legends Oceanic Challenger Series team - Tainted Minds Blue.
The APAC Region has been quite the battleground since the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare with endless uncertainty from fans, players and organisations alike on the outlook of competitive Call of Duty in 2017. The transition between titles has been somewhat shaky, particularly for players with a multitude of player movements and roster changes, both predicted and unpredicted occurring in the past 3 months which has paved the way for the next chapter in APAC Call of Duty.
Tainted Minds are looking for support staff to assist both the Oceanic Pro League (OPL) and Oceanic Challenger Series (OCS) League of Legends teams. Successful candidates will work directly alongside the players and existing support staff to develop the teams while gaining valuable experience working in a professional eSports organisation and get your foot in the door of the industry.
